THE CAREER-PIVOT INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

Yesterday: tokenomics. Today: go-to-market.

A field guide for the former crypto grifter entering her startup GTM era.

Congratulations on the rebrand.

You got hired in GTM. Your old community is now an audience. Your airdrop is now a lifecycle campaign. Your “gm” has matured into “circling back.” The jokes write themselves; your contracts still need reading.

The work matters more than the title.

Marketing, consulting, software, and financial activity are not interchangeable descriptions. Tell a licensed professional exactly what you do. Do not use a broad title to hide activities or a relevant history.

Pipeline is not a policy.

Professional liability and cyber coverage are different topics. Neither should be assumed to cover trading losses, failed token prices, misleading promotions, or deliberate fraud. Ask about exclusions and your actual services.

Bring receipts. The boring kind.

Gather client agreements, a service description, and any existing policies. Find out who is responsible for what before you promise the client the moon. Especially if you already did that once.

This article is general information, not individualized insurance or legal advice. Discuss your actual circumstances and policy terms with qualified professionals.
