Here’s the situation.
A rebrand can happen overnight. Contractual obligations do not disappear with the old profile picture. Professional liability, or E&O, addresses certain allegations that professional errors or omissions caused a client financial loss.
Three questions before you assume anything.
- Does the policy describe your actual marketing, consulting, or technology services?
- How are performance promises, advertising claims, and intellectual property treated?
- What exclusions, retroactive dates, and reporting rules apply?
TAKE NOTE
Missing a growth target does not automatically create a covered claim. Neither a new job title nor an insurance policy makes deliberate fraud acceptable.
The policy outranks the punchline.
These are general educational descriptions. A policy’s definitions, conditions, limits, endorsements, and exclusions determine its scope. Discuss your needs and the actual wording with a licensed insurance professional.
